Please express my appreciation to the talented musicians of Strings And Things for their splendid performance at Rappahannock Community College’s forty first commencement on Friday, May 10. I am always proud and delighted to have your quality performances, and the participants are very complimentary of your part. I appreciate Strings And Things’ having celebrated with the RCC family and their special guests again this year and look forward to working with you in the future. – Elizabeth Hinton Crowther, President (Note: A Strings & Things string quartet has provided music for this event each year since 2006.)

This is a little late but I just wanted to thank you for coordinating and performing the music at my wedding. My husband and I could not stop talking about it the day after…it was perfect! Thanks especially for coordinating things with the trumpeter and for suggesting all those wonderful songs for the prelude. I really wish I could have been there to hear your performance before the wedding! It was amazing that you had a piece from the “Lord of the Rings” to play. It was the perfect touch, just as I had imagined it. Everyone was talking about that moment later on. Thanks again, and please pass my compliments to your talented fellow musicians! I really appreciate what you put together; it helped make such a special day even more memorable. – Sincerely – Katlin Loiko

Once again, without the participation of you and your fellow musicians, the Mathews Memorial Library’s annual Deck the Halls celebration would have been far less enjoyable. I can’t imagine having it without you. Today, a dozen or so people either called or came in to say how much they enjoyed the event and how touched they were by the beauty, ambience and sense of community. Thanks you once again for sharing the beauty of your music. – Bette Dillehay, Librarian

Oh my gosh!! What a fantastic job you guys did!! Sometimes I would be talking to someone and a piece of music would drift into my head and I would realize you were playing exactly the right thing. Many folks asked about you guys, impressed, and were amazed that you were local. Plus you were so patient with everything – I know I was scattered. The event, in my mind, turned out very special because of everyone’s hard work – your excellence at what you do created a great atmosphere. – Mary Leyden

I can’t believe it has been over a week since our wedding. Just wanted to write to thank you so much for your wonderful music. I’m so sorry I didn’t get to hear everything, but we did crack the window in the bride’s quarters to hear as much as we could. I loved what I could hear, but heard from so many guests how great you all were. Thank you so much for your excellence and efforts. My Peter (the groom) picked off “Another One Bites the Dust” right away and loved it!! Thanks again for that extra something special – and I hope someone recorded the Mamas and the Papas for my dad. I would recommend you all anytime if you ever need a reference – Julie Fielding

Please extend my heartfelt thanks to the members of Strings and Things who performed at the Wine & Arts Festival at Locust Grove on June 9, 2007. They did a beautiful job entertaining the beginnings of 1500 spectators (plus all the vendors and their workers). I could tell everyone enjoyed the beautiful music they created because I heard very enthusiastic clapping and several people came to tell me how much they enjoyed them. Kudos to them. My artists are asking me if there is any way to put a speaker out towards them so that they can hear the music. That is a GREAT complement because most times artists are asking that the music be put far away so that they can conduct business in peace and not have to yell over the music. So that tells me that they enjoyed it as much as the spectators. If they are willing, I would be honored if they would come back and perform again next year. Once again, thank you ever so much. – Cecky Ropelewski (Note: Strings & Things continues to perform each year at this event since the event began in 2006. The speakers are positioned so that the vendors may also enjoy the music.)

Our appreciation to all of you for making Natalie and John Michael’s wedding so beautiful. You “set the tone” as is often said and added elegance and dignity to the ceremony. Nina, I know you hate rehearsals as much as David, but you were there which I am sure added to the perfect timing of your selections. We are very grateful and thank you for sharing your gifts with us. – Sincerely, Ginger

Thank you so much for the beautiful music you played for our wedding reception. It was just perfect! I regret not getting a chance to meet you in person and say hello. I hope you all got your meals and found everything to be comfortable at the Jefferson (Hotel). We enjoyed your playing very much and could not have been more happy with everything. Thank you so much and have a wonderful summer. – Thanks, Cyndi and Chris

Bill and I wish to thank you and the other fine musicians of Strings & Things for providing the beautiful music at Elizabeth’s wedding. It was an essential part of a special ceremony. Thank you for your gentle-spirited cooperation during the months of music selection and the saga of the soloist. Thank you for your flexibility as you continued to play while we waited anxiously for a groom! You helped us through considerable trial..and with such soothing music. – Sincerely, Louise Karry
